Privacy Policy

Omanbapa Foundation (“Omanbapa”, “we”, “us”) operates the Omanbapa mobile application, a community-service platform that helps citizens, organizations and companies in Ghana plan, join and track volunteer projects. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.

Information we collect

• Account information — name, email address, password (stored encrypted), and, if you sign in with Google or Apple, the basic profile information those providers share.
• Profile details you provide — bio, phone number, profession, organization, region and constituency.
• Project content — projects, comments, updates, photos and videos you create or upload.
• Location — when you create a project we request your device location to suggest where the project is taking place. You can decline and enter the location manually. We store the coordinates you choose to save with a project.
• Usage & device data — basic technical logs needed to operate and secure the service.

How we use it

• To provide the service: create accounts, display projects, award activity points and badges.
• To show community activity to citizens, charities, government and companies as part of Omanbapa’s civic mission.
• To keep the platform safe (moderation, preventing abuse) and to respond to reports.
• To contact you about your account or projects you are involved in.

Sharing

Project content and public profile fields are visible to other users of Omanbapa. We do not sell your personal data. We use trusted service providers (cloud hosting and file storage, email and payment processing) solely to run the service. We may disclose information if required by law.

Your rights & account deletion

You can edit your profile at any time. You can permanently delete your account and personal data from inside the app: Profile → Delete Account. When you delete your account we erase your personal data and disable sign-in; community projects you created are kept but no longer identify you. You may also email us to request deletion.

Data retention & security

We retain personal data only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Passwords are hashed and data is transmitted over encrypted connections.

Children

Omanbapa is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy and will revise the date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
